LOCAL FEMALE PERFORMERS TO SHOWCASE AT SIT AND SPIN

More than 12 women will take the stage as Calliope, Indiegrrl, Persephone's Circle and The Tiger Show collaborate for the first time Thursday, December 16th 1999 at The Sit and Spin in Seattle, WA. The show (appropriately named Eve's Dawning) will include Lilith Fair performers Nikol Kollars and jr as well as Willow, Holly Figueroa, Tiger Zane, Kym Tuvim, and many others. The show will also include dancers, artists, readings, and more...

The players:

Calliope is a celebration of women in the arts. It is a one evening event that occurs once every calendar season and features artists of all sorts including dancers, poets, singer/ songwriters, instrumentalists, painters, video artists, photographers and comedians.The mission of Calliope is to support these women in providing an outlet for celebration in this diverse city of Seattle and deliver a captivating experience for the many loving supporters who come to all the shows.

Indiegrrl began as a mailing list set up in May of 1998 as a forum for information, networking and conversation about independent music from a female perspective. The list welcomes women and men interested in women's role in the independent musicindustry. Since its inception, Indiegrrl has gone on to be much more, with concerts and tours all over the world, as well as a second compilation CD coming out of the record label in March 2000.

Founded by Seattle singer/songwriter, Willow, Persephone's Circle began in the early winter of 1998 with the idea of actively supporting and promoting fellow female musicians on an intimate level. The circle is featured in monthly concerts, as well as song circles and live radio interviews showcasing their music and upcoming shows.

The Tiger Show is an entertainment showcase focusing primarily on music; it offers a high energy, inspiring environment for performers and their audience. The warm spirit of cooperation and our combined resources creates greater momentum and exposure for us all. The Tiger Show was born in 1997 from Tiger's desire to create a strong, friendly musical community; it is relaxed, professional and innovative with a wide variety of performers.
